The Global Programming Consortium to Advance the Status of Women and Girls supports the Department of State Office of Global Women’s Issues (S/GWI) to strengthen the capacity of civil society in target countries to effectively advance the status of women and girls in core thematic areas, via three objectives:

  1. Enhance the organizational and technical capacities of civil society organization partners (CSOPs) and empower them to strengthen response to gender-based violence (GBV), advance the women, peace, and security (WPS) agenda, and support women’s economic empowerment (WEE);

  2. Implement crosscutting strategic initiatives (“SIs”) to strengthen response to GBV, advance the WPS agenda, and support WEE in target countries; and

  3. Engage in collaborative research and learning to build a body of evidence on promising practices aimed at strengthening response to GBV, advancing the WPS agenda, and supporting WEE.

Making Cents International is a member of the consortium led by the American Bar Association/Rule of Law Initiative (ABA/ROLI). We are a resource partner that will contribute technical expertise to projects focusing on WEE activities.
