Curriculum Development

We are an industry leader in developing evidence-based, tested, and customized curriculum packages that contribute to improved socio-economic outcomes for youth, women, smallholder farmers, aspiring entrepreneurs, refugees, and other vulnerable populations. We transfer skills and produce behavior change through an applied learning methodology that promotes and facilitates engaging, self-reinforcing, and immediately applicable learning. The curricula bring real-life experience and challenges into a safe learning environment through simulations, structured discussions, participatory exercises, and peer-learning techniques.
We collaborate with local service providers to develop new or adapt existing curricula to match specific project objectives and local environments. Our support typically includes:
Assessment of needs and skills — we assess the capacity of direct beneficiaries; the availability, skills, and knowledge of trainers and coaches; and the capacity of potential trainees.
Training in a cascade model — we develop and adapt curricula and trainings for master trainers and coaches that strengthen their facilitation skills, build expertise in specific content, allow them to practice their skills and new knowledge, and help them to offer additional, ongoing support to trainers and coaches.
Service providers can access a broad range of our off-the-shelf curricula, along with training materials such as facilitator’s guides, laminated work cards, and interactive cognitive manipulatives. To date, we have developed more than 30 curriculum packages in 60 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and North America. More than 1 million people have benefitted from the training courses we have delivered through 7,000+ certified trainers and coaches.
