Project Overview

Nike Foundation´s “Girl Effect” initiative aimed to unleash the power of girls to solve the most persistent development problems we face today. Making Cents contributed to the design and pilot delivery of Nike’s Girl Effect University (GEU), which develops the capacity of key champions of adolescent girls programming to leverage the unique potential of adolescent girls to end poverty. To that end, we assisted the Foundation in determining the needs of GEU´s implementing partners and jointly developed workshop content, case studies, and customized simulations for use in GEU capacity-building and networking sessions. We also packaged the learning in a series of briefing notes that captured best practices globally in livelihood, health, education, and leadership programming for adolescent girls.
